Texas Core Curriculum

The academy uses a two-layer model: Texas-aligned source curriculum underneath, then child-friendly zoo missions on top. This page is the parent control surface for the official Bluebonnet archive, TEKS alignment, and local/Kolibri workflow.

Strategy

How The Curriculum Meets Or Exceeds Texas Expectations

Bluebonnet supplies the state-aligned reading, foundational skills, and math spine. The academy adds mastery checks, hands-on STEM, coding, marine biology, veterinary reasoning, enrichment, parent decision rules, and private records.

Required core lane TEKS-aware reading, phonics, writing, math, and knowledge work through Bluebonnet and the 36-week map.

Parent workflow

Use The Source Curriculum Like This

  1. Open the daily plan and choose week, day, and decision mode.
  2. Use Bluebonnet as the source lesson spine for reading/math.
  3. Use the zoo mission when the child needs an independent or hands-on version.
  4. Collect one small evidence artifact: reading, writing, math, STEM, or oral explanation.
  5. Decide Friday: advance, hold, or intensify.

Quality control

How We Keep It Scientific

  1. Official TEA/Bluebonnet portals remain the source of record.
  2. Local PDFs are preserved with manifests and hashes.
  3. Child pages avoid raw PDF overload and convert targets into active tasks.
  4. Exit tickets and records check learning after activities.
  5. Enrichment expands beyond minimum Texas coverage into STEM, coding, and research habits.
